ON Source Observations - ON

This routine simply tracks a MAIN position and accumulates photons. It is used mainly in spectral line mode where an observer may wish to keep signal and reference position data in separate scans and later construct a (S-R/R) scan in the SPA data reduction program. An example giving the necessary keywords and arguments follows.

Table 4.9
ON Keywords

NSCAN (integer)
Sets number of ON observations to be done consecutively.
TSCAN (seconds)
Sets length of observation.
TSAMPLE (seconds)
(This parameter only applies for CONT mode observations.) Sets the integration time for each data point recorded by the computer.
