The cal chopper provides three positions to conduct observations.
- HOME
- move cal chopper to its home position
- AMBI
- move cal chopper to place
ambient temperature absorber
in front of receiver horn
- SKY
- move cal chopper out of beam path
A display is provided at the top of TEK4023 screen 1 to indicate the state
of the cal choppers. (The display also is used to indicate whether
frequency switching or filterbank blanking is in progress.)
