Command Entry by a Remote Observer

A third mode of keyboard entry is from the modem attached to the MODCOMP. Since the remote observer is presumed to be operating a VT100 terminal or emulator, the command entry is performed in the same manner as for command entry from the control room console. OPCOM is activated by momentarily depressing any key on the keyboard. A beep will sound and a cursor will appear on the bottom row of the screen with an identifier above the cursor to indicate that the remote keyboard is in use (?REM). The user may now enter the command string and a carriage return in order to enter his command.
