The autocorrelation spectrometers are controlled by a PC (labeled
faas) located
on the front table in the annex.
To activate the program,
boot the faas computer (if it is not already booted) and issue the
following command
at the DOS prompt,
faas
The observer is presented with a menu. Typically,
option 1 (remote operation with no setup) is selected.
If the PC was off due to a power failure, the user needs to
reset the surge protector located next to the PC on the table.
